KayD's Medical Fund

Hi Everyone,

My name is Kylie Hiatt and I am doing this page for one of my best friends whose had the toughest 2 years of her life. On January 12, 2015, KayD Nauenburg was diagnosed with a rare form of Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma cancer.  She battled the cancer with countless numbers of chemotherapy treatments for months until she was told she was cancer free and in remission in July 2015.  We all couldn't of been more happier for her.  Her oncologists told her she would need to continue doing maintenance treatments for two full years after she was in remission to try and keep her cancer free for as long as possible.  She started complaining of pain during the month of May 2016. After a three week hospital stay she was sent home with a diagnosis of pancreatitis but the doctors did not think that was all that was causing her so much discomfort. She was scheduled to do multiple scans, which included an endoscopy, ultrasounds and CT scans to view what was causing so much pain near her pancreas.  Once those scans were completed in the later part of June 2016 she was scheduled to have a PET scan to make sure she was still in remission and everything looked okay. In July 2016, she got dreaded news that again the cancer was back and this time there was a larger tumor growing around the opening of her pancreas. The tumor was in a spot that would of been to difficult to remove with surgery as it was near so many nerve endings and trapped behind one of her main arteries.  This tumor caused her such an umbarable pain she had a hard time doing the most commom day to day activities.  She started a strong dose of chemotherapy on August 8, 2016. For many months KayD was laid up, she could barely get up in the mornings, and would have a hard time making it through an 8 hour day of work. She had chemo treatments every 3 weeks and spent the following 2-3 days feeling extremely sick. She has missed many days of work, she was put in the hospital on multiple occasions sometimes days or weeks at a time. As we all know how it is to have medical bills pile high on top of regular bills and doing this all on her own, i finally told KayD she had to put her pride aside and we are asking for any donations to help her. In the middle of January she will start the process to have her stem cell transplant which will put her in the hospital again for up to 5 weeks, leaving her again with no work, no income, and even though insurance helps with some, she will still have a premium to pay along with a decent size deductible to meet and then pay for. The money will be used soley for all of the medical bills and debt she has acquired over the past 2 years. If any of you know KayD, you know how big of a heart she has, what she would do what she could for anyone who is in need. She would never ask anyone for money but it is hard for me to watch my best friend suffer so much and I believe no 27 year old should HAVE to go through this! Any and ALL donations are so much appreciated from the bottom of her heart.  The funds will go directly into KayD's account, i just set this up for her so this would be one less thing she had to worry about and do on her own.
