Katrina Disaster Relief Trip
Hello Facebook friends and family! I’m going to try and keep this as brief as possible. On May 12th, I will be going to Louisiana with other students from my college to build houses in the lower 9th ward of New Orleans. I was one of twenty students out of seventy-five applicants to be chosen to represent my school for this trip. When I started school, I did not plan on this trip and did not budget it into my savings, which is why I’m doing this GoFundMe to help raise funds to cover my costs of the trip. I have set my goal at $400 and this may be more than I need, but GoFundMe takes their cut and anything I make over what I need I plan on either given to my instructors to help other students who may be struggling financially or I will donate it to the organization we will be working for on this trip. I will post an update to let all of you know what the outcome of that was. I don’t like asking for handouts for myself, even if it’s for a worthy cause, so I am offering to work for my money. When I get back on the 22nd of May, if you would like to hit me up, I am willing to help you with any task, with-in reason, like if you donate $5 I’m not going to reroof your house, LOL, but I will HELP you do so. Just let me know. Also, I want to stress, nobody should feel obligated to donate to this in any way. If I don’t get any donations I will figure something out.
