Kathy Groebner says that Katie Grace made this collage in April. "She is still a fighter. You can do this baby girl you have God and 1,000's of Prayer warriors don't lose hope."
Thank you for all the thousands of prayers across the country and around the world. They give the family the strength and support to help keep Katie Grace fighting. Please continue praying for her as the medical team works hard to help her become strong enough for a new lung transplant.
If you are able to help donate to the family it would help ease their financial burdens as they spend their time caring for Katie Grace. Blessings to all. T~
Katie Grace is still fighting hard. She and her family are strengthened by all your prayers. I know they are grateful and appreciative of all your support. Here is a little bit of Katie Grace's Journey
Good News! Katie Grace has shown some improvement in the last 24 hours. Her lungs sound more clear and so far she is maintaining. One of Katie Grace's doctors was shocked at the improvement overnight and told Kathy that it's the prayers because it's not from the treatment. The doctors didn't believe Katie Grace would pull through this. THIS is the power of prayer and a time to Praise God. Katie Grace is still fighting however, so PLEASE keep the prayers going and continue to share. Thank you for all the love and support shown to Katie Grace and her family. Your prayers strengthen all of them!
All of your prayers are helping! Although Katie Grace is still in the PICU fighting hard, she is strengthened by your love and support! Please lift this precious child up in prayer and help the Groebner family so they don't lose the family home due to loss of income and medical expenses. Donate now! Thank you. Tiana~

After some agonizing days for the Groebner family, it has been determined that Katie Grace does NOT have cancer as was suspected. What a tremendous relief for the family. Unfortunately Katie Grace is still at risk with the amount of of B-Cell progression, inflammation and lung damage that was discovered. She will begin a new treatment and continue to be intubated until their is improvement. THANK YOU for the many prayers of love, support and healing over the past 2 weeks... Kathy is so grateful and says the prayers are working! Thanks to all for your generous support to the Groebner family during this very difficult time. Tiana~
Hi All I know that I have been silent. Sorry the rollercoaster her has been a very rocky one with a few places in the road where we have been blocked. BUT the patience and prayers are ALL being heard.
As of yesterday morning the thought was that Katie Grace had cancer and it was just the need to find out where the cancer was located to decide what needed to be treated. All things hinged on a Catscan.
Today the cancer team came back and said that they will not be involved in her care "YAHOO".....!!!!
This being said in no way means we are out of the storm.;
The reason the were so sure of the cancer was based on the amount of B-Cell progression and the inflammation. She is still AT RISK!.
BUT she can have treatment for these B-CELLS that should kill them and prevent any further issues. They will treat her with a medication called Rituximab.
Until they see an improvement she will continue to be intubated.
There is still inflammation and lung damage.
Your Prayers ARE WORKING.
THANK YOU!!!!!! (yes you may share this)
UPDATE: September 30, 2015
As you may already know, Katie Grace is out of surgery and intubated. She has finally been diagnosed with EBV and her numbers at 50,000 are at dangerously high levels for a (heart lung) transplant patient. The family is still waiting for more test results and will update when they can. In the meantime, prayers are what the family says gives Katie Grace her remarkable strength and fighting spirit. Thank you for your continued prayers! Tiana~
Katie Grace has been in Lucille Packard Children's Hospital since September 16th with fluid in her lungs and an infection a team of specialists are working on to trying to understand. While Katie Grace is fighting hard to keep breathing, her parents are in need of support. With no answers on her condition and having to care for Katie Grace around the clock, both Kathy and John have been unable to work. If you can help in any way, I know the Groeber family would be very appreciative. Thank you for all your many prayers! Tiana~
This God loving, awe inspiring family has survived many years despite extraodinary financial and medical challenges. A hardship tough enough to break the strongest of families, but not the Groebner's! They are a kind, loving, selfless family bound in faith and love and they will get through this too, thanks to the generous donations and support from people like you who have followed their amazing journey.
The Groebner family sold their home in Minnesota and drove out to California to be close to Stanford in hopes that they might be able to maintain 5 year old Katie Grace, longer then the 1 year survival time doctors gave her in MN. Stanford had a new IV medication to help their daughter maintain until she could get the transplant she needed. CCC and Donna Meisner got them started on raising the Fund money they needed for the transplant. The Groebners are a truly remarkable family with an equally remarkable story. It's inspiring to see how a family going through so many challenges can be filled with so much hope and love and still have enough in their hearts to share with others...
"I am Katie Grace. I am 11 and I have Pulmonary Hypertension, a rare and terminal illness. But I have Faith that God will see me through. Thank you for being here to visit me" ;)
