Kathryn Philo's stroke needs 24/7 care

Recently my family has suffered a major setback. My mother Kathryn Philo suffered a major stroke back in Sept. of this year. After three months of therapy, there has been very little progress in hopes of her returning to her normal independent self. She is now restricted to a hospital bed and needs 24 hr. care which is extremely expensive to the amount of $4500.00 per month. The stroke has taken its toll on the left side of her body affecting the mobility of her leg, arm and facial muscles which has affected even her speech. My mother and father are in need of financial relief to help pay for Moms care which will require her to be in a home other than their own.

Both my mother and father have spent a lifetime helping others. My father has been in the ministry his entire life. He was a pastor in Penngrove, CA. for several years and is currently a chaplain at the White City VA -Southern Oregon Rehabilitation Center & Clinics (SORCC) which is just outside of Medford, OR. My father is 72 yrs old now and works countless hours helping the vets and counseling those who are broken and in need of help. My mother prior to having the stroke spent her time helping the homeless through her ministry Love Company. She also led music occasionally alongside my father during services at the VA. If anyone of you has had the pleasure of meeting my Mother you may have received one of her “Holy Squeezy Beezies”, which is essentially a very warm and heartfelt hug. These hugs were given out to strangers, homeless and family alike.

These two people have given and given their entire lives. My biological father David L. Leet was a pilot in Vietnam and was lost when I was two. My mother spent the following years speaking and advocating for fellow wives of lost airmen and service members. When I was five she married my current father Steve Philo and he legally adopted me as his own son. He chose to be my father and raise me as his own. I have two amazing brothers. Ian is the youngest and served in the Army. Nathan is the middle brother and currently lives in L.A. with his family.

Both of my parents have led a life of service to others and they are now in need of some help. Maybe one or all of you reading this have been helped or blessed in some way by them? I can’t think of two more deserving people, so if you are able to, please donate and help two people who have helped and touched the lives of so many. Thank you Jason.
