June 28, 2014 I was in a horrible car accident.  I didn't know the driver all that well.  He was a friend of a friend. I don't know why I got in his truck that night but we had all decided to go backroading after partying.  After backroading we decided to meet my best friend and her boyfriend  at a restaurant for dinner.  It was me and 5 other people in the truck.  The driver was going about 60 mph on a country road in East Texas.  He received a text from his mom, looked at it and went to answer it.  The truck started to veer to the right when my best friends cousin yelled "watch out!"  He looked up,  overcorrected and crossed the center line and hit a covert which made the truck flipped 3-4 times.  Even though I was buckled up I was ejected out the back window.  I landed on the pavement parallel to the truck.  The whole right side of my skull had been completely shattered and scalped. Nobody called 911 immediately.  I was choking on my own blood, mud and dirt. Thankfully it happened right across the street from this mans house who heard the wreck.  He happened to have medic experience from working with the medics when he was in the Army.   He rushed over  and put pressure on my head to keep me from bleeding out. He said when he got to me I barely had a pulse. My friends cousin was on the phone with her mom.  The guy asked if anyone had called 911 and everyone said not yet.  So he told my best friends cousin to hang up and call 911.   I was life flighted to Houston Memorial Hospital.  Where I spent 21 days in the ICU, 10 of which I was in a coma.  I also had a massive stroke after 4 days from the accident.  Everyone else in that truck walked away with minimal injuries.   I spent a total of 4 months in the hospital and then started rehab.  I had to learn how to talk, eat, use the bathroom, brush my teeth and get dressed.  I'm learning how to balance, walk and improve my speech.  I spent 4 months with Rehab Without Walls and in that 4 months I improved more than I had with any of the other rehab programs I have been through.  I have exhausted all that my insurance will cover so now I need to "private pay".  If it's in your heart to help me reach my goal I would so greatly appreciate it.
