Kash for Kate's Medical Bills

Kate and I met in High School and have been close friends ever since.  I love her like a sister. For anyone who knows her, you know that Kate is extremely independent and works her butt off at everything she does.  She is passionate, hilarious, kind and determined, and has had a successful career dealing with national security, even serving as a civilian in Iraq in 2009.

This past summer, Kate was diagnosed with a rare malignant brain tumor- Meningioma, type II. Symptoms have caused her to have loss of hearing and smell, changes in vision, as well as suffering from debilitating fatigue. Because of this and the radiation treatment she had to undergo, she was forced to make the difficult decision to leave her position at work to go on medical leave, severely decreasing her income as well as her health benefits.  Thankfully, her scans in October looked clean, but because some of the treatments they did are new, they weren't covered at all by insurance. This has left Kate with an exorbitant amount in medical bills, which is understandably overwhelming. In addition to that, complications related to asthma and the radiation treatments, Kate's immune system has tanked, resulting in multiple infections that aren't responding to antibiotics. Because of this, she will likely need an upper respiratory surgery later this month, just adding to the medical debt. 

I can assure you that it was difficult for her to even agree to setting up a Go Fund Me because she hates asking for help, but with the encouragement of her family, finally agreed. 

Kate has tried to suffer through this alone so as not to burden her family and friends. No one should have to carry this weight on their own.  Please show my girl some love, and help out any way you can.
