Karas Battle Against MBC

Kara has been diagnosed with Metastatic Breast Cancer with Mets in her spine, pelvis, femur and arm. This is a stage IV cancer and considered terminal.  She has started traditional treatment of Xgeva (a bone strengthener), Letrozole (a hormone blocker) and Ibrance (an aromotase inhibitor).  While these medications are said to have low side effects compared to chemotherapy, there will be fatigue, pain, and other side effects that will inhibit her from being able to continue work, at this time.  The other main side effect is a low white blood cell count which will require protecting her immune system.   Kara has decided that doing a fairly intensive regimen of alternative therapies will assist her in avoiding these side effects, strengthen her immune system and hopefully, keep the cancer from spreading.  As of this time, the almost 14k a month traditional treatment costs are covered by insurance, the integrative treatments are not and are quite costly.  These costs, combined with living expenses are a struggle right now, since she cannot work.  This campaign will assist Kara with these expenses.   Kara’s main goal is to live the rest of her remaining days (hopefully many years) with a great quality of life and vitality.  Anything helps and is appreciated!
