Kangaroo Care Recliner

MILKS (Mothers Initiating Lactation Knowledge and Support) is a Huron County peer-to-peer breastfeeding support group. A number of our members have been touched by the wonderful staff and care at the Stratford General Hospital’s Special Care Nursery (SCN). 

It is our goal to give parents and their newborns the most comfortable stay while in the Special Care Nursery. The current SCN chairs do not recline or adjust in any way, and parents spend hours upon hours holding their baby here. It can be quite uncomfortable.

Parents are often riding a rollercoaster of emotions after baby arrives, mom is needing to rest and heal, postpartum hormones are in full swing, and the very scary task of raising this tiny human can seem daunting. Now add in that this sweet newborn is ill and is in need of some special care in hospital....

We want to give back to our Special Care Nursery this holiday season. Our goal is to raise $4000 to put towards the purchase of some kangaroo mother care chairs. We hope you all are able to join in and give in whatever way you feel is possible
