Help Baby K Beat Leukemia
For the past week, he has been ill and the doctors thought it was just a virus. Unfortunately, he took a turn for the worst on Monday, December 12 and was taken to the emergency room in Ponca City, Okla. From there he was transported by ambulance to Children's Hospital in Oklahoma City for more testing. The news was not good. He was diagnosed with Leukemia and will be starting chemo in the next few days.
His parents will have to take a leave of absence from work and they will be traveling often to Oklahoma City for treatment. Yet again, Baby K has a long road ahead of him. Thankfully, he has a forever family that loves him and is praying for a full recovery.
I have created this fund to help them with medical expenses that aren't covered by insurance and to assist with the travel and living expenses associated with time off from work and traveling back and forth between Ponca City and Oklahoma City. Any amount you donate is greatly appreciated. No amount is too small.
Please pray for Baby K and his family. They need and want your prayers and positive thoughts. On behalf of Deedee and her family, they thank you from the bottom of their hearts.
Help spread the word! Please "like" or "share" from your FB or Twitter account. In advance, thank you for sharing and PRAYING for Baby K.
Kalem's family shared the following today:
We received some positive news yesterday. The cancer blast cells are negative in Kalem's spine. There needs to be three negative tests in a row to completely rule out cancer present in his spine. We're thankful to everyone for their prayers, donations and unwavering support. Leukemia Treatment will still continue over the next 3 and half years. We're taking things day by day. Kalem is experiencing discomfort, fatigue and pain. He is really handling this very well for being 3 years old.
There are blood drive set in Newkirk and Stillwater in January. Please consider giving in Kalem's name. As he has had 5 transfusions over the last 2 weeks.
Thank you all for everything, we are overwhelmed with your kindness.
Please say a prayer for Kalem he is going home for a few days and will return next Wednesday for more chemo treatments. In the last several days, the little guy has been through a lot and now with the start of treatment his tiny 3 year old body is fighting hard against the cancer. Please keep him in your prayers and kindly share his story. The family thanks you for your continued support and prayers.
