My name is Nicola Grant. I've been a colleague and friend of Susan's for over 16 years. I work with Susan in Edinburgh. Any funds raised will be used to finish as much of the extension as possible.
An unscrupulous builder has left my friend and her family without their home this Xmas.
This is their story:
We paid £44K for an extension with a new kitchen, bathroom & extra bedroom. This should have been finished in September. The work wasn't completed, the builder didn't buy the appropriate building supplies but continued to take money from us. Sadly we've now been left with an unsafe uninhabitable shell & as a result have had to decamp to live with a family member. We've had to sell our family car & don't have any other means to finance new builders. The original builder won't refund any of our money. We've had the work assessed & it's estimated to be £16K's worth. Any help anyone can give would be greatly appreciated. We just want to be back in our home. Thanks so much for reading.
