iDebate Rwanda uses debate to change the lives of young Rwandans and East Africans. iDebate Rwanda gives students the tools to change their own world by teaching them how to think critically, how to solve problems creatively and how to impact their own society.
Rwanda is a country that experienced the worst genocide of the 20th century which resulted in hundred of thousands of young people being orphaned and others killed.
iDebate has brought about positive change by creating high impact and measurable benefits for the youth and the community. It has contributed to social well-being of Rwandan people. It has contributed to teaching critical thinking to young people who are the future of the nation. It has contributed to education which, just like peace and security, is a powerful tool for economic development. Additionally, it has directly and indirectly effected business and development in Rwanda.
The Rwanda National Debate team was admited to attend the World Schools Debating Championships, a global competition for high school debaters taking place this coming July 19th-29th 2016 in Stuttgart Germany.
This year iDebate is asking for the support in the form of an in-kind contribution to contribute on our flight tickets and money for registration for the 5 members of the Rwanda National Team to be able to attend this historical global championships for the first time.
