Must Love Dogs

My mom, Pam Parizo Burke, is a very caring and helpful person and will rush to help any person or animal in need. But she never wants to ask for help from anyone.  She works two jobs which doesn't even cover her normal bills. She lives in the country and her heating and air conditioning stopped working and she couldn't fix it. Along with her two jobs she volunteers at the SPCA and over the years has adopted two dogs and one cat. Recently one of her dogs, Fendi, got a splinter embedded in her eye. Although she couldn't afford it she took time off work and drove the dog an hour and a half one way to take the dog for surgery. That and the follow up visits cost over $2000.  The local vet helped out where they could but the costs kept piling up. Then when it seemed like things were settling down Fendi tried to jump the fence to get out and she got her leg caught on a nail and it tore open a gash from her stomach all the way down her leg.  My mom was very distraught and didn't know what to do. She bound up the wound and the next day took her to the vet and they did surgery to stitch her up. Which of course cost plenty. But after a week the wound was getting infected and it was spreading and the vet said probably the best thing to do would be to remove the leg.  Another three hour trip (there and back) to the surgeon and more costs. But the surgery was a success and Fendi seems happy in spite of everything. But my mom is in a giant financial hole. I am hoping that all the people she has gone the extra mile for in the past can donate something to help her now. I repeat, she is not one to ask for help but believe me she needs help right now.  And if the dog costs weren't enough she lost water pressure from her pump this week (and had to have have the pressure take replaced for $800.  So along with everything else she had no water for a week. All donations will go directly to her to pay all the vet bills and to help her get back on her feet.  I'm not sure of the exact costs of the dog bills but $5000 is probably close.
