This fund is to help the children of David Caulfield with his funeral arrangements as well as living/educational money for his son Tristan. David died unexpectedly on Saturday, January 10th, 2015, while running. Details of his death have yet to be determined, but what we do know is that at age 51 he died too early. David leaves behind his eldest son, Raiclan, his daughter Heidi, his son Tristan (18 years old) and his grandson, Carter. David was going to school at Indiana University to finish his doctorate in Education. Tristan is enrolled at I.U. And was living with his dad at the time of his death. David was a dear friend of mine during grad school. We had almost nothing in common, but we took all the same classes and were almost forced to talk to each other. Haha. We found common ground in how much we loved our families and our country, and from there, learned a great deal about each other. He was the kind of person who was slow to trust new people, especially when I met him in grad school, but once you were in, you were in for life. Loyalty was his highest value. I am extremely grateful for having met him, becoming friends, and staying in contact. I deeply saddened to hear about his passing. His son, Tristan, hit on something very important in a post on Facebook. David enjoyed doing the things he loved, like video games, comics, and running. So I will spend a moment doing something I love, and think of him while doing it. For me, that moment will be opening night of the Avengers 2. I will never forget him. May there always be angels on our shoulders. -Sthele
