Global Medical Brigades

Hey Y'all!

      Myself, along with a team of doctors and other undergraduate students will be heading to Ghana, Africa in the spring to provide   preventative health care services to small, rural communities in partnership with the Department of Health! We have a chapter at Auburn University that is planning a trip for the spring and are all dying to go!
      Volunteers are responsible for educating community health workers (CHWs) on chronic illness screening techniques that can be implemented after our team has left the community. During clinic days,  our patients are screened for chronic diseases while physicians provide consults and prescribe treatments for those diagnosed with a chronic illness. Volunteers and CHWs also do home visits for patients unable to attend clinic.  Global Brigades also has a dental team on site to perform fillings and pull teeth, a small procedure that can end what has been years of pain for some people without access! 
     Please consider donating to help me raise money to not only be able to go on this once in a lifetime trip, but also to help fund medical supplies and medications for our patients overseas!
