Lean on Me House Project

I have a passion and a dream to create a place of respite for anyone who needs it.  In my profession as a nurse in a rural community, I have come across people in need of a place to stay while a family member needs to be in the hospital. Maybe a baby is about to be born, but mom isn't ready to check in, and it is too far for her to return home.  Or maybe someone needs surgery, and requires the support of family members close by.  This home could also serve as a comfortable place for a family to receive hospice services.  I especially wish to serve area ranchers and farmers who work so hard to provide food to nourish all of us.
Lean On Me House is located in La Junta, Colorado within walking distance of the hospital.   By the work of many volunteers, donations of building materials from area businesses, and countless hours shopping and holding yard sales, some of the work has been completed.  One full bath is totally renovated.  However, there is still so much to be done:  a new kitchen, roof, window, and door must be installed, a half-bath and stairway need renovations, painting, exterior work, and landscaping must still be completed.
