Yanet Rojas Family Support Fund

Donation protected
Dear friends,

Yanet Rojas, our dear friend and community leader, died suddenly last week. This is a huge loss to her family, the neighborhood and to the world. She had such a good mind, with tremendous energy to reach, teach, and organize people. As much as she was a teacher, she was a learner, always reading, going to workshops or meetings, or otherwise seeking knowledge.

She was a founding member of the Cypress Hills People's Food Committee, fighting for equitable access to healthy, affordable food in Cypress Hills, and a leader in the creation of the People's Garden/Jardin del Pueblo.  She was also a parent leader in Cypress Hills Advocates for Education and at P.S. 89/Cypress Hills Community School. She was also a leader in her church, St. Luke's Lutheran in Woodhaven.

There is so much more to say, but now we are looking to collect money to support her family in this time of grieving. She is survived by her husband Domingo and her three daughters: Veronica (15), Judith (14) and Daniela (13).

We are collecting general funds to support her family and hope you can contribute. A donation of any size is greatly appreciated!
