Help bring the JustPeace PH Peace Tour to Portland, OR!
On May 1-2nd 2017 delegates from the JustPeace PH Peace Tour will visit Portland, OR to agitate, organize, and mobilize in support of a just and lasting peace in the Philippines. The 4th round of peace talks between the National Democratic Front and the Government of the Philippines formally resumed on April 4, 2017. This decades-long struggle directly confronts the brutal oppression of the Filipino people by economic exploitation, landlessness and foreign intervention. Peace is not merely the absence of war. Addressing the root issues of the conflict requires confronting systemic issues of poverty and inequality in the Philippines.
Portland Committee for Human Rights in the Philippines, GABRIELA Portland, and Anakbayan Portland join the call for not only a bilateral ceasefire between the two governments, but the implementation of pro-people social-economic reforms and the immediate release of all political prisoners!
To bring the delegates to Portland, we will be fundraising to meet the following costs:
$298 Airfare from Los Angeles to Portland
$40 Transportation in Portland
$240 Food for Delegates
$200 Financial donation to the JustPeace PH Tour
$778 Total Costs
