Proper Homegoing for Sterlin

On 9/07/2017, Sterlin Milam was called to heaven to be along side his mother & to be guided in his after life by GOD.

This is a very tragic story to tell...
On the early morning hours of September 07, 2017. Sterlin (whom is disabled with down syndrome, autism, mental retardation).  Sterlin had to have one on one care 24 hours a day, which was managed by on site staff members daily). On this day, somehow he was able to exit the managed group care home of where he resided. Making his way pass staff members and alarms on all doors to gain access to the outside (shocking of how this could happen). He was out of site for some time (about an hour or more no one is exactly certain). Where he wondered for a period of time making it a googled walking distance of 22-26 mins away to then be near a major busy intersection. The sights and sounds probably frightened him (since he does not do well with loud sounds & bright lights), it was reported that he walked out into the busy street where he was struck by a moving vehicle. The driver who struck him stayed at the scene and called 911 and awaited for EMS to arrive. Sterlin layed in the street dying. EMS arrived and reported that Sterling was dead on the scene. A formal investigation is still ongoing at this time. So many questions still unanswered, so many thoughts going through everyone's minds, who's at fault?, Who is responsible?, Will there be any charges filed?, What about the grieving loved ones? What about the driver?, What about his remains? Where does the family we go from here? Etc. So many many questions we all have been asked & thinking. But this is for sure... Sterlin is not in any more pain. He is not suffering. GOD & his mother have him now!

Sterlin leaves behind his father, a loving sister, two caring joyful nephews, his grandmother, a handful of cousins, aunts, uncles, and two unborn twin members he will never get to meet. Please help us in prayer first and support as you are able to. We have set up this page to help in gathering funds for funeral/memorial expenses, legal matters & filings, etc on Sterlin's behalf for proper burial/memorial services. For continued updates please continue to check back with us. Thank you for your time, prayers, and support!
