Jump for Jaclyn (Pediatric Cancer)

Jump for Jaclyn was created when James, a first responder, also decided to stand up (and jump) against cancer in hopes of helping more families struggling through a cancer diagnosis.  James, an experienced skydiver approached the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation with the idea to skydive 25 times in one day, with each jump having a direct connection to someone who has been affected by cancer.  First first Jump for Jaclyn event, held in the fall of 2016 was a huge success.  With the help of his friends and supporters James jumped 25 times in the span of 8 hours and helped to raise funds and awareness for the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation.

The 2nd Annual Jump for Jaclyn will be held on August 6th, 2017.  All are welcome to atted to witness this truly amazing feat of dedication and passion for change. This year 2 special ladies will be making the 25 jumps to support the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation.

Melanie Curtis is a coach, speaker, author, entrepreneur, professional skydiver, mini-spoof movie maker, and lover of comedy, growth and people. Melanie has jumped out of airplanes over 10,000 times, has traveled around the world coaching thousands of people, collecting insights, inspiration, and even more ridiculous memories and lessons along the way. Melanie has made it her life's work to live fiercely by her chosen values, to lead by raw and real example, to connect deeply with others, and to share as many laughs and as much love as is available at every turn.

Melanie is grateful and excited to be included in this year's Jump for Jaclyn event, able to give back in this way, raise awareness, and raise money to help families in need in this unique way.

Nikki Blakeslee will also be jumping at the event on August 6th:

My name is Nikki Blakeslee and I grew up in western Kentucky with my mom, Dad and Brother. We spent most weekends on the river water skiing jumping off cliffs, riding ATV's, rollerblading, exploring caves and fishing. During the week , I had my regular schedule of figure skating and competing on the swin and dive team. So, my parents were not surprised when my sports became more extreme as I grew up. Now a days you can find me skydiving, working at the wind tunnel (Indoor skydiving) as and IBA instructor, long boarding, rock climbing and base jumping.

This year i am excited to have the opportunity to share a part of my extreme life with some people who may not get the opportunities I have had. I have been asked to jump at the Jump For Jaclyn event on August 6th 2017. My mission is to raise money and awareness to help those that are struggling after a cancer diagnosis. For all the families who are suffering, who need someone to step up and give them a reason to smile and laugh again...I GOT THIS!

The Friends of Jaclyn Foundation was started when Jaclyn Murphy was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor when she was just 9 years old.   Through chance events Jaclyn was adopted by a collegiate lacrosse team and because of this relationship she vowed to help make a difference in the lives of other children battling pediatric cancers.  Jaclyn and her family created the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation whose mission is to improve the quality of life for children with pediatric brain tumors and other childhood cancers.  They do this by creating lasting relationships between families battling cancer and local sports teams, clubs and community groups.  The team provides the child with love, support and friendship as they battle "the beast" and work toward recovery.

Please consider donating to Jump for Jaclyn to help James reach his goal of spreading childhood cancer awareness through the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation.
