Juliana's Ballet Summer Intensive

Donation protected
Hello! My name is Juliana Eno.  I am 14 years old and I have been studying ballet for 10 years.  I am proud to say I have been accepted into the Joffrey Ballet’s 5-Week Advanced Summer Intensive for this summer, a feat that helps me get closer to my goal to train in a professional environment.  I have wanted to do a summer intensive almost every summer in recent years, and this year my dream came true, as I am one of 150 lucky international dancers chosen to be a part of this elite program.  Fourteen is the age when professional dance companies start looking at the true talent in a dancer.  This is the time a dancer should put herself forward, and let herself be seen.  Professional dance companies such as the Joffrey are looking to recruit new talented dancers into their company or training program.  A summer intensive is also an opportunity for a dancer to get an idea of what life as a professional ballerina is like.  Being accepted into this intensive is a huge honor, given auditions are held worldwide and so few people are accepted.

The major obstacle for me is financial.  Intensives at elite companies like the Joffrey Ballet are very expensive.  The cost for me to attend this program totals $4,893. This includes tuition, required attire, deposit fee, activity fee, and the many pointe shoes I’ll need to attend this intensive.  In order to cut costs on housing, I am staying with friends in Chicago during this 5-week training.  I am seeking your help in supporting me through this important opportunity in my ballet career.  I would greatly appreciate it if you could donate funding to help me get closer to my goal of becoming a professional ballerina.  Every bit counts and helps me get closer to my ultimate goal! Thank you for taking the time to read this and hopefully to support me. I am grateful either way. I also would be appreciative if you would please take some time to forward this to anyone you might know who is interested in supporting the cultural and performing arts  who would be willing to donate for this incredible opportunity!

Here are some highlights from my ballet career so far:
Ages 6 and 7: Awarded “Dancer of the Year” at Miss Andrea’s Dance Factory in Rockton, Illinois.
Age 9: Awarded Joan Stonecipher Scholarship at Rockford Dance Company.
Ages 10 and 11: Awarded “Grand Winner for Dance Choreography” for the PTA Reflections Competition in the State of Wisconsin.
Ages 11-12: Trained at the Hyde Park School of Dance in Chicago, Illinois.
Ages 12-present: Train at Rockford Dance Company where I danced as the leads in their
2016-2017 performances: Clara in The Nutcracker and Snow White in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
