Our father, Juan Manriquez, was recently diagnosed with liver cancer. He's a 56-year-old migrant vineyard worker from Philo, California who came to the states 25 years ago to support a family of nine. Our dad is the hardest working, loving, and kind-hearted person who is willing to fight for his life.
The cancerous tumor located on his liver is far more advanced than we thought. Surgery and/or chemotherapy is his next step. We found out his insurance will not cover the expenses. Our family cannot afford all the costs for therapies, surgeries, and tests that will be done. Our father is not willing to give up, even with cancer he is still working hard every day knowing the income is much needed.
