Lucy's Surgery expenses

Our cat lucy is one of the sweetest, most affectionate cats I've ever met.
She was missing for over a week and when we found her, it was bittersweet. She was hit by a car and her back leg and hip were broken. Some kind person who saw the accident took her to a vet to be x-rayed before bringing her to the shelter. She's not doing too bad considering but the surgery to repair the leg costs over $5000. The vet said we could amputate the leg for $3500, but that's just not an option we want to consider.
I'm starting this fund as some friends have offered to help us pay the bill.
It's a pretty big strain on our finances. If anyone would like to help, all donations would be greatly appreciated.
