Surgery for Dallas

On Wednesday, January 11 Erin came home from work to find her usually happy-go-lucky 6 year old golden lab Dallas lying on the floor, crying in pain and unable to move. She rushed him to the animal hospital where the surgeon later confirmed that Dallas ruptured a disc in his back and required emergency surgery. Between the CT scan, anaesthesia, the hospital stay, surgery, and the post-op rehab, the medical bill may be over $10,000. Sadly without this surgery, Dallas will not live.
Dallas is currently in the hospital awaiting surgery on Monday. It's hard to believe that in the blink of an eye Dallas went from being a vibrant energetic pup who loved to play fetch with his bright yellow ball to immobilized and in need of a miracle. Dallas is the light of Erin's life and the most loyal of protectors and friends. Erin is heartbroken at the thought of losing her beloved companion at such a young age but on her teacher salary, this expense is painfully out of reach.
Erin teaches a leadership and community service class at a local high school and she prays that in her time of need her friends and family will show her students that anything is possible when a community rallies around a common purpose.
