Our Story:
On January 11, 2017 my wife, Jasmin, was diagnosed with Large Cell Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.

Jasmin had been feeling ill the whole month of December, and had scheduled a few doctors’ visits during that month. She told them that her lower abdomen is what was causing her pain, about her horrible sounding cough, and her loss of appetite. She started to lose weight rapidly. Dropping 25lbs in just over 3 weeks. She had requested the Christmas week off to rest. The entire week she was off she was bedridden. We only thought she had the flu or anything else? The next week when I was off of work for New Years Eve vacation we stayed at my parents house to ring in the New Year. She woke me up early new years day around 4a.m. saying she was in some serious pain. I asked her if she wanted me to take her to the emergency room, she declined. So she toughed it out, saying the pain wasn’t really that bad, or really not noticeable. She was fine. We went about our day, and I noticed her just lounging around all day. I kept bothering her to get up and be active since it was the first day of the New Year. Well, later on that evening she said that she wasn’t feeling well at all and that we needed to go to the ER immediately. So we go into the ER and we're there for like 3 hours, or so when the Dr. finally comes back into the room to see us. He closes the door, and I'm looking at his body language and demeanor. Doesn't look optimistic at all.. He comes in and lays some news on us that immediately flips our whole lives upside down. He tells us the radiologist has seen some signs on the CT scan that usually leads to some form of cancer.

That was new years day, we didn’t end up leaving the hospital till the Jan 6th.  Everything was so new to us. I mean it felt like we were just kids at the doctor, and they should have been telling our parents or something. It was such a surreal moment for us with her only being 22, and me 24. This news seemed unfathomable at the time; it still does to this day. I was at a loss for words, and didn’t really know what to say to calm her down but only hope that there was an error, or anything else at all because there was no way that MY wife had cancer. We waited till the morning to notify all of our immediate family. The whole week we were there, they were running all sorts of tests. Even a bone marrow biopsy! I know, I don’t think I could do it. But luckily I have a strong, and brave wife and she took it like a champ! The following Wednesday was when they gave us the results and told us that She has Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. We were absolutely devastated because we were hoping for a miracle. We had already planned for it and spoke about seeking a second opinion at MD Anderson Cancer Center and luckily we got in rather quickly after the diagnosis. We know that the Lord has a plan for us and this is just going to be apart of our testimony.

How y'all can help!
Since finding out this horrible news my wife and I have not been working. We have been able to pay off most of the bills for this month, but with no guarantee for next month’s, we are starting to worry. I have spent almost every minute by my wife’s side trying to make sure she has all the support she needs, and making sure I’m here to listen about how she’s feeling. I have not returned to work, and in my line of work there is no Paid Time off and if I don’t work I don’t get paid. She also has no PTO so we are depending on the support of my parents and her family, whom we are so grateful for. Unfortunately, we are just half way done with this dreadful journey, and with the money that we have already had to come out of pocket with; the bills are starting to add up quick. So we feel like it is time to ask for help.

As hard as this is for me to do, I’m willing to suck up my pride to make sure my wife continues to have the best care available. The doctors at MD Anderson Cancer Center are second to none, so we know we are in the best care we could possibly be in. Knowing that, and knowing we serve faithful God! We know that nothing is impossible. EVERY dollar counts! The donations we receive will go toward our day-to-day living expenses, and toward our medical bills. So please, if you are not able to donate, please please share this post! We really appreciate y’all taking the time to read this, and everyone who has been supporting us and wishing us well! May God always bless y'all, thank you.
