Joyce is a friend to everyone she meets. She has opened her heart to many and helps those in need. She also suffers from a disease called Polycystic Kidney Disease or PKD.

PKD is hereditary and affects the kidneys and liver. Joyce received a liver transplant several years ago, but now is in need of a kidney transplant and is in the process of finding a donor. Though her husband and son are not matches, they have both agreed to be donors in a Living Donor Exchange program in hopes that Joyce can find a match through this system. A close friend has also agreed to be a donor and is currently in the process of testing. We are optimistic that Joyce will find a match soon and can have her transplant this spring.

Joyce has a fulfilling job at a non-profit helping others in need, but with the time off from work and rising medical expenses this presents a financial burden. She will be facing high co-pays and medical bills, the cost of her prescription medications, and her every-day living expenses. We have set up this fund so that hopefully she can recover from her transplant worry free. We estimate $10,000 to be a sufficient amount to help cover her medical and living expenses during her recovery.

If you are not able to donate money, we would greatly appreciate your thoughts and prayers for Joyce during this time, and she would love to receive cards or messages of encouragement.

We hope to have these funds raised for Joyce prior to her transplant so that she can go into it stress free, knowing that she has one less thing to worry about.

Hi everyone, we have some great news – if all goes as planned, Joyce will receive a transplant next Thursday, Nov. 16! We are so happy that this day has finally come, and she was eager to let all of you know. And her husband Mark will be the donor!

We ask that you please keep Joyce and Mark in your thoughts and prayers as they start this journey together. We will continue to post updates after the surgery.

Thank you for your love and generosity!

Friends and Family, we cannot thank you enough for the overwhelming support you have given to Joyce. We are so moved and so grateful to all of you! We want to give you an update.

Joyce is still searching for a donor. Her husband and a friend are in the process of becoming candidates for the Donor match program. She will be talking to a dialysis team soon, but hopes that she will find a match before having to start dialysis. She is type B blood, and they are still accepting applicants for donors. Given that we don't know when she will find a match, your donations provide her comfort knowing that she will have the funds for support when the time comes.

Thank you for your support!

Hi Everyone, thank you all for your donations and kind words! Thanks to you, Joyce has met her goal in just under a month. She is feeling well, but still looking for a donor. Though her husband Mark, son Danny, and friend Denise did not turn out to be matches, they will still participate in the donor match program, which will increase Joyce's chances of finding a living donor.

We are all so overwhelmed by your generosity, and can rest a little easier knowing that she won't have to worry about part of this process.

Thank you all again! Please continue to keep Joyce in your thoughts and prayers.
