Eric & Shanna's Journey to a Miracle

Eric and I were married in Michigan in September of 2004. Eric's job in the Army has moved us around quite a bit. We've lived in TN, Germany, and now KY. We've been through four deployments over the last ten years. For seven long years we have struggled with infertility, which has been physically, emotionally, and financially draining. Thankfully our friends and families have been so understanding, and supportive over this time, and it is with their support that we were able to keep moving forward.
It is our dream to be able to become parents, and we decided two years ago that we were ready to move to adoption, and we truly feel this is God's plan for us. Our hearts are open, and our arms are waiting. We are currently working with our agency finishing an updated home study, once approved we will begin working with another agency to begin the process of a domestic (in the U.S.) infant adoption.
Our agency requires half of our payment up front, and the rest when we are matched with a birth mother and 30 days away from the birth. Our goal is to raise enough funds to help us keep the amount we finance as low as possible. Every little bit helps, and that's why we are here. The agency fees help to provide the birth mother with healthcare, counseling support, and financial assistance for living expenses during her pregnancy and for a period of time postpartum. The fee also covers the cost for the agency to work with us, our advertising, and our legal aid and documents required to finalize the adoption.
You can also visit my Etsy shop where I offer hand knit and sewn items for women and children here: the Striped Tangerine . All profits from the sales in my shop will benefit our upcoming adoption. I also welcome custom orders if you have something in mind that you don't see in my shop.
