I am excited to share with you about my opportunity to serve abroad. I have been requested to go on a mission trip to Dominican Republic, and I would love for you to partner with me!

I will be traveling with an awesome ministry (from PA) The Underground Skatepark as a representative from my organization The Lamp to Barahona, Dominican Republic, December 2017.

The purpose of the trip is to share Jesus in word and action.  I am honored to join The Underground Skatepark as my assistance has been requested in ministering to a community of women. This particular trip is very special to me as it will be their first time ministering to the women in the form of a women’s conference.

We will also be providing free basic medical clinics in communities and villages within Barahona and Pedernales (serving close to 200 patients a day); Sponsoring and building a home ($4000); and raising ($1000) to provide shoes as we wash the feet of women and children. We also have been given the opportunity to sponsor a children’s festival that they call “Thanksgiving Christmas.” The church buses in approximately 600 children and feeds them a
meal they would never be able to have.

I appreciate your support through prayer and financial donation towards my ability to serve within the various communities.  Together, we can both be a small part of what God is doing to uplift the community in Barahona, DR, especially in the lives of the women and children.

In addition to the cost of our trip, we will be soliciting monetary donations ($5000) and actual donated items as follows:

Shoes – sneakers, flip-flops, sandals, casual shoes, no hi-heel shoes

Clothing – summer attire (casual – t-shirts, shorts, slacks, dresses, etc.) – all ages, but primary focus is on children

Hand tools in good condition (we will be donating tools to the construction team that is already there building homes)

Soap – the pastor has asked us to bring soap to give away.

Candy to give to the children

Bibles – in the past the teams have taken paperback Spanish New Testament Bibles

Crafts/toys for the church children: Crayons, matchbox cars, coloring books, baseballs, basketballs, Christmas coloring books (Spanish children books would be amazing).
