I hate doing this. I really didn’t want to. My friends, however, have convinced me that I need to.
As a lot of you already know our baby Josiah has a bad kidney. He has hydronophrosis (big word for his urine is backing up into his kidney and they think it’s due to a blockage). He is needing a surgery to fix it but we can’t even afford the copay for the Renal Scan to find out what needs to be operated on (which is on tuesday the 24th). His medical bills have already exceeded well over $2000 and we don’t really know what to do. He also has a problem with his stomach but we can’t even begin to do the tests for that yet. I don’t want to even talk about that at this point.
My husband makes too much money for us to qualify for the hospital’s financial assistance. Our insurance only covers 70%. Which I’m grateful for but 30% is a lot when we’re talking about tens of thousands of dollars.
With Josiah being on nutramigen formula (basically the most expensive kind) and the rest of the bills we don’t have any extra money to put towards his medical care. Plus I take care of my mom who has end stage COPD. Her medicines and copays aren’t cheap but we had all that covered until the baby started falling apart. If that alone isn’t scary enough for a mom (I’m a nervous wreck) now I have to figure out how we’re going to keep our baby healthy and keep our bills going at the same time. I’ve exhausted all of the options I know about. This is a last resort. Anything helps. And every penny donated will go towards the baby’s medical needs. Thanks in advance for any shares or donations.
