Greetings Friends and Family,
Please join Joshua’s Journey in presenting Joshy's Reindeer toy drive this Christmas, to help put smiles on the faces of the many children who are courageously battling cancer at the VCU-ASK Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Clinic in Richmond, VA. On average, 1 to 2 children are diagnosed with cancer a week at Children’s Hospital of Richmond. Currently, 100 to 125 courageous kids will receive treatment for cancer in the weeks leading up to Christmas. Our family first met these beautiful children seven years ago, when our heroic kid Joshua Blake Smith began his battle with cancer. Most of you know that Joshua won his battle on October 6, 2009 by receiving his angel wings, after a valorous fought fight, due to an aggressive brain tumor. The brave children who continue to fight for their lives are very important to Joshua’s Journey and we remember them always. Being in the ASK Hematology/Oncology clinic was not what you would think. These children are all Superheroes and filled with courage, hope, love and laughter. They are truly amazing! So this Christmas, in memory of our favorite Superhero, we would like to ask you to be a hero and drop off an unwrapped toy or make a monetary donation and help us make the holiday’s a little brighter for these kids.
Joshua’s Journey will be collecting toys at The Mayfield Civic Center at 311 Glover Street, Fredericksburg VA 22401 on the following dates and times;
December 9th 4pm – 8pm
December 10th 12pm – 2pm
December 17th 10am -4pm
The following are also a drop off locations;
Bundy’s Barbershop 1215 Dixon Street, Fredericksburg VA 22401 (see Chin during operation hours)
Trudy Smith home 415 Tyler Street, Fredericksburg, VA 22401 (box located@front door)
