Joshua Krive-Jenks Medical Expense Fund

As many of you know I am Joshua Krive-Jenks (many may know me as just Joshua Jenks.)  I went in for routine surgery to remove a section of my colon due to complications from Crohn's disease. After about 3 days of recovery I began to have severe pain and the doctors were not quite sure what was going on. It turned out there was a small bowel perforation that was missed by the physician who's care I was under (not my surgeon who has been great thus far however it was a partner in his practice.)  To make a long story short I spent New Years Day in excruciating pain as they tried a few different methods of trying to clear up the bleeding in my abdomen... all while ignoring (at least publicly) that there was a bowel perforation possibly spotted on a cat scan. I say publicly because my wife heard a team of doctors discussing how they should take a closer look at the CT scan because he thought he saw a perforation and then to take it further they all concurred that the family should not be told this at this time. After another 8 hours of attempting treatments that would never have an effect on a bowel perforation they rushed me to ICU for "monitoring."  After I got to ICU and they were able to get my wife who is also my power of attorney out the room within seconds they informed me I would be going back to surgery at midnight on Jan. 2nd and that they were just now telling me because the rest my family would handle telling my WIFE and POA that I would be going into emergency surgery. I feel this is is a huge HIPAA violation being that my wife was the only person who I had signed a release for. Sooooooo to make a long story short I went into surgery and came out alive and now will be living with an ileostomy bag for 6 months before having a third surgery.

I have 5 kids and lost my job just to get the initial surgery taken care of... My wife exhausted her FMLA time during the birth of our beautiful daughter and has already had to return back to work. The costs of medical supplies, gas to make it to appointments, daycare for our children, home healthcare costs, etc. are mounting and I am asking anybody that could please please help cover some of these costs so I can lessen the weight off from my wife's back through these trying times to do so if you are able. $5 here and there goes a long way and larger donations of course go even further. I'm more than tickled to see the smallest of donations and am very dedicated to raising this money to alleviate the financial burden on my wife who has not only me to take care of now but also our 5 children.

I thank anybody who either monetarily contributes or passes this link along to their friends and share our story ahead of time and I wish you all a blessed life. Any questions contact me at [email redacted]

Thank you from Joshua and on behalf of my wife Krysty.
