Joshua lost his mother, on November 4th, 2018.
She was Josh's Primary Caretaker for the majority of Josh's life. Josh, who is now 37 years old lived in Parkville, Missouri. Joshua has spent his entire life on the North side of Kansas City.
The past 14 years he has made a career working at the Walmart store in Gladstone, Mo... primarily as the cart boy and just recently being promoted to assist in the inside of the store!
Josh has Cerebral Palsy and is Develpmentally Disabled. He needs consistent caretaking in the mornings and evening. Josh's wish is to not move to the Lee Summit area with his father, Don Shelton. He does not want to leave his friends or job!
In order to accommodate his wishes, Don must find living arrangements very close to the Walmart in Gladstone, Missouri,
along with transportation to and from work, and assisted living to accommodate Josh with his everyday living needs.
Joshua does not qualify for any assistance from the government, due to the fact that he has a full-time job / with benefits at the Walmart store. After working with the Mid-America Regional Council... they have considered and labeled Josh's situation as an urgent lifestyle change.
I am Don Shelton, Josh's father and beneficiary. My wife of twenty years and I are currently in the process of relocating Josh close to his work. His needs are great at this time. From care taking and moving expenses and getting Josh set up in an adaptable environment, conducive to his disability.
