Jessica and Josh's skating fund

As skaters on Team USA, we are looking to advance our skating to be competitive internationally and eventually give ourselves a shot at the 2022 Olympic team.  A tumultuous 2018-19 season plagued with injuries may have stalled our ascension, but we refuse to let it hold us back.  The price of training as an elite athlete is very high and the costs only rise as the dreams come closer to fruition.  Although our whole families work to contribute to our skating, even all that cannot fully fund our dreams.  In addition to the work Jessica’s parents put in, Jessica teaches skating nearly every day of the week to help fund her skating.  Josh also works 5-6 days a week to fund his part of the team.

The cost of living, skating, and now paying off the heavy burden of student loans would already be unmanageable for Josh, but the injuries of last season have made it even worse.  Due to two injuries totaling six torn tendons and a fracture, not only did Josh miss months of training, he also was unable to work for 4 months during the most profitable time of year.  Equal to losing out on 50% of his annual salary, the injuries have hurt us worse than we could have imagined.  On top of losing salary, our inability to compete at this years’ US Championships also excluded us from US Figure Skating’s envelope funding, a loss of thousands of dollars in funding for both of us.

With the Olympic games three years away, our goals just out of reach, and our funds at an all-time low, we could not think of a time where our needs for raising money have been higher.  This is the season where we are determined to make the jump into the next rank of skaters; to be considered as legitimate contenders, and we can only do it with your help.  We are putting everything in for the next three years and giving it our all in every phase of our lives so that we can give ourselves the best chance to achieve our dreams.  If you would like to make a tax deductible donation, you can also print out this form and mail it in to the New England Amateur Skating Foundation.  All donations will be split between us evenly, no matter how they are given to us.  We are in this together and we cannot wait to see what the future holds with your help.  Thank you so much for taking the time to read this, we appreciate any help, no matter the form it comes in.  Even the smallest donations can go a long way and your support means the world to us.
