Joshua's - G20 YEA -Berlin or Bust

Donation protected
I'm a young Canadian serial entrepreneur.  I'm one of 25 Canadian entrepreneurs selected to represent Canada at the G20 Young Entrepreneurs' Alliance Summit in Berlin - and one of the youngest to be chosen.

I've been (not-so-smoothly) bootstrapping my way along, and now I need your support. Help me get from Toronto to Berlin!

The Summit takes place 15th- 17th June 2017.

What is G20 YEA?

The G20 Young Entrepreneurs’ Alliance (G20 YEA) is a global network of young entrepreneurs and the organisations that support them. It was established to convene each year in advance of the G-20 Summit, with the aim of championing the importance of young entrepreneurs to the G20 member nations and to share examples and practices. The Alliance was officially created at the G20 Young Entrepreneurs Summit, Toronto, Canada, 2010.

About Me:

It is always difficult to explain who you are, what you have done so far and shout about yourself, however, here we go!

I am a prolific volunteer in my community, through Scouting, Medical Ventures, teaching STEM and Typing Skills and other local events. I am a strong beacon and leader to others and inspire them to achieve their best, including those with Learning Differences as I know first hand what it is like to work with a learning difference, personally. I have over 1650 hours volunteering in the community.

It has been an honour to Judge and Speaker for York Region’s Y2 (Youth 2 Youth), teach Robotics at one of the most prestigious Boys Schools in Ontario, worked closely with MasterCards Canada YES (Youth Entrepreneurial Success) and receive the following awards, Ontario Volunteer Service Award, Queen’s Venturer Award - Scouts Canada, Magna - Give Back Community Award , Lieutenant Governor’s Community Volunteer Award, Awesome Foundation Award and Chief Scout Award – Scouts Canada.

Why this matters:

It is important that young entrepreneurs in Canada are well represented at the G20 YEA, to ensure our voice is heard in international conversations around youth entrepreneurship.

I am a young serial entrepreneur (Edupreneur) involved in helping to educate young minds in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) curriculum.

I have an understanding of the challenges and strengths facing our young entrepreneurs bring to the table international experience, and would value the opportunity to address them on an international level.

Through developing and growing both Qwertynomics and Sci-tek.ca it has left me with a strong base knowledge of the challenges and delights of entrepreneurship from a young age. I have been blessed with amazing support and opportunities within my regional business community and enjoyed giving my time back to my community.

Youth entrepreneurship is crucial to the future economic prosperity of Canada as the majority of jobs that students will face in their future careers have not yet been created.

This is an important opportunity, and to be selected is an honour.

Where the funds will go:

- Conference registration
- Flights
- Accommodations
- Travel costs to other speaking engagments throughout Ontario

I am asking for a little financial support back from my community, friends and family to help on this one of a lifetime opportunity as most of my time is spent volunteering. Any support, however little will be appreciated.
