Joseph "Soapy" Murphy left this world on November 9, 2017. He was the beloved son of Joe and Anne Murphy, and the husband and best friend of Cecelia  Cullen Murphy. Joseph was a friend to everyone who knew him and was well known for his devotion to his favorite team: Arsenal FC.

Joseph lived in New Jersey, USA, with Cecelia who he married less than two years ago, but Joseph's final resting place will be back home in County Cork, Ireland.
This GoFundMe campaign is to raise funds for funeral services. Your contribution, no matter what the amount, will help mend broken hearts and give Joseph the proper send-off he so deserves.

Until we meet again, farewell Joseph. Rest in peace.

Cecelia wishes to extend her heartfelt thanks and gratitude to all you wonderful donors and to everyone sending comments, thoughts, and prayers. She is overwhelmed by your generosity and support of Joseph's final farewell.
We were also blessed to connect with the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust (KBRT), whose mission “aims to alleviate the financial hardship of bereaved families repatriating the body (bodies) of loved one(s) who have died abroad in sudden or tragic circumstances back to Ireland”. Earth angels Colin Bell, of KBRT, and his affiliate Clive Anderson, of Pelham Funeral Home in New York, have graciously arranged for Joseph’s return to Co. Cork next week where services will take place at Crowley Funeral Home. Cecelia is committed to donating any funds that may be raised in excess of necessary expenses, to the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust. As Kevin’s legacy continues, their good work has made a tremendously difficult time easier. A special thanks to Hugh, Peggy, Bern and others who suggested this amazing foundation.
