Jose Quiroga's Family Expenses Fund

Donation protected
Three weeks ago, my father, Jose Quiroga, was admitted to the Chinook Regional Hospital in Lethbridge with severe pain and internal bleeding. His condition quickly worsened, and after being transferred to the ICU, was then airlifted to the Foothills hospital via STARS helicopter.

While his overall vital signs were stabilized, his condition worsened, with severe liver damage, complete kidney failure, and bacterial infection of the abdomen. Eventually these complications became too numerous and too severe to allow any viable treatments, and on January 25th, it was decided by us, the Quiroga family, that we would remove life support. He passed peacefully, quietly, and surrounded by loved ones.

My father was a beautiful soul. He worked harder than anyone I ever knew, selflessly working two jobs to support his family while refusing to take any breaks. He was kind, caring, compassionate, and endlessly giving. He would do anything for someone, especially those he cared about, and was known for his warmth and loving nature. he loved unconditionally, and his mission in life was to bring joy and happiness to those around him, especially his grandkids.

During these three weeks, my father's bank account was compromised by a close family member with addiction's problems, resulting in his account being put in over $1000 in overdraft (over $2000 removed). In addition, since he was the principle income provider,  there is no continual source of income. This tragedy happened so quickly,  and there is no source of financial assistance available to compensate for the loss.

Our family (and specifically, Darlene Quiroga) could really use financial aid as soon as possible for bills, funeral expenses, travel costs to/from Calgary for principle family (in regards to medical/funeral arrangements), food, rent, etc. In addition, we could use aid to help recuperate the lost funds that were previously present and had acted in part as a small buffer during this time.

We are a family that, while wealthy in the amount of love and care we have for one another, are not terribly so in finances. I don't expect any great acts of charity,  but anything and everything anyone was willing to donate to help us during this time would be endlessly appreciated.
