Jordan's Rally to Recovery

Donation protected
Things can change in a matter of minutes and the reality is you are never prepared for it to happen.

At the start of this year our 9 year old cousin Jordan started having problems walking for long periods of time and catching her breath. Playing soccer is her favorite sport and that was becoming a challenge. The doctors informed her family that she had a severe case of scoliosis and that she would need multiple surgeries right away to correct the issue. Because, Jordan was born with a rare genetic disorder called Prater-Willi Syndrome the risks of surgery was higher in her case but it was important to get it done sooner than later.

On January 25th, 2017 Jordan walked into the hospital where she had her first spinal surgery. Doctors mentioned that the swelling would last a few days but did not mention any complications occurred during the procedure. A few days after the surgery and the swelling subsided, Jordan told her parents that she could not feel her legs, and that’s when the Doctors confirmed that she had suffered a Spinal Cord Injury; has become paralyzed from the waist down and she would never be able to walk again. Their whole life changed at that moment.

As of today, March 21, 2017 Jordan is still currently in the hospital and Uncle Willie and Aunt Melissa have taken time off work to stay by her side the whole time. No one can imagine what the Gamboa family is going through. From having to find a new home to accommodate Jordan’s new way of moving around, to getting her to and from the upcoming years of physical therapy.

So many people have asked what they can do to help.   What we can do; is relieve some of the stress of upcoming medical bills and extensive rehabilitation, which is why this Go Fund Me page is being set up. Any amount that you can donate is greatly appreciated. Thank You all for your support!
