Johnson's Flood Recovery

Donation protected
The flooding in Nebraska this year has devastated a lot of families. One of them is the Johnson family in North Bend, NE.

With an emergency like this, it is hard to know where to start in aid and support. While everyone certainly needs your support, we want to draw your attention to this family specifically.

Over the past decade, Scott and Debby Johnson have devoted their life to helping those who cannot help themselves. They have worked tirelessly with children and individuals with severe medical and behavioral needs.

They have had these individuals since they were very young children. One of whom is a quadriplegic named Paul requiring constant medical care.

He wasn't expected to live very long when they took him under their wing, but through the constant love and care that Scott and Debby provided, Paul was able to celebrate his high school graduation and is still creating medical marvels with each and every day. It's amazing what a little love can do. They have paved the way in the state of NE for others like Paul to have access to the care they so desperately need.

In addition to this, they also adopted Paul's sister, Hayleigh, as their own, bringing a younger sister into their family which already had three children.

Their entire life they have been devoted to helping people, whatever the need, before themselves. Their own children will tell you that they hardly remember a time  when their doors weren't open to people needing a place to stay and guidance and support.

This flood has been devastating for them. They were forced to evacuate their home, where Paul's, customized medical room is. The flooding has completely destroyed their basement and it's anyone's guess when they will be able to return home. Paul and Debby have made it safely to Omaha at the Rainbow Home for the time being, but getting Paul back to his room is of utmost importance due to his medical needs. The sooner that repairs can get done the better. We have learned also that despite them having full home owners insurance,  American Family is choosing not to cover any of the damage.

They need help. That's why we, their children and grandchildren, are doing this. They are amazing people who have devoted themselves to helping others, now it's time for us to help them. Please help the Johnson's in their recovery efforts so they can get back to focusing on what they do best, helping those in need.
