John Ria Poe,
A Son,Brother,Uncle and Friend.
Known as John but to some of us known as Peka or Johnny. John was born and bred in Te Atatu North Auckland. He was our gentle giant.
Some knew him as super shy and quiet but he was the most humbling guy with a big heart who would do anything for his loved ones.
To us, he was our joker, a friend who became family. John was simple but always a friend that never liked to be a burden. He was always thought of by others in high regard.
John meant everything to those who knew and loved him and we are heart broken he is gone.
In 2016 John moved to Australia seeking new experiences and wanted to push himself to be more confident.
John spent the last year of his life in Perth living with his sister and family. He was working hard at the Coles Distribtion Centre and enjoying life.
Tragically, on the 6th of September 2017, John went missing. His car was left outside the family home with all of his possessions inside but no trace of him.
A massive search was put on which ended with the devastating news that we had hoped would never come.
Police found Johns body in local bushland 9 days after he disappeared.
New Zealand is home for John. We are asking for any amount anyone can afford to chip in to help us send John back to New Zealand to be laid to rest.
