In 50 years our grandchildren will ask us what did you do to protect the water?
What did we do to protect the sacred sites?
What did we sacrifice for the next seven generations?
What will we say?
The very first moment I saw the faces of the young runners in Dayton, Ohio on their 2,000 mile journey to Washington DC I knew I was going to Standing Rock. Etched in stone on their faces was a look of dedication to a cause far greater than any of us. The look you see when your heart is bursting with both love and pain.
Only a week later when I saw videos of friends of mine arrested on the frontline. I immediately felt called to go to Sacred Stone Camp and give everything I have in myself to defeat the Dakota Access Pipeline and protect the water. Three days later I arrived at the top of the hill at Sacred Stone overlooking one of the most beautiful views you will ever see. It is this place the Black Snake would cross the Missouri River threatening the drinking water of millions downstream and a livable planet for those yet unborn to this world. What will we do?
I have now called Sacred Stone my home for 48 days. Each day we feel the love and prayers you send us.
Each day we meet many of you arriving from all over the world. The solidarity from around the world is inspiring.
We are stronger together and together we can defeat this injustice.
Every day I walk out to the Cannonball River to look out over the water we are protecting and remember why I am here. Mni Wiconi is not just a saying. The longer we exist in a place the more we literally become it. The majority of our body is made up of water and the longer I stay here the more connected to the protection of this sacred water I feel.
We must all be water protectors wherever we live.
What I do best is tell stories. I tell stories in my photos, videos and words. I hope you have learned about what is going on here at Standing Rock from reading my reporting. I report the facts and not the rumors. The mainstream media is not telling the beatiful story of coming together that is happening on the ground here. Whatever comes next I will be there to be your eyes and ears. I hope I’ve helped push you to visit the camps and see first hand the historic events unfolding here in North Dakota.
Since arriving here at Sacred Stone and joining the internal camp media team I have captured more awe inspiring or historic events than I ever thought possible.

Yesterday I was almost arrested while reporting at a peaceful prayer with many elders and children assembling in an open field near a DAPL construction site. Law enforcement surrounded all of us and I was lucky to escape. Your solidarity will help me to continue telling the stories of this historic movement.

It gets extremely cold and windy in the winter here on the Standing Rock Sioux Reservation so every donation will help tremendously. Donations will be used for winterizing gear, purchasing a DSLR camera for higher quality video and photos to give the best coverage possible. Microphone for audio recording, a replacement for my broken phone I provide updates on, gas to get around covering the actions and unexpected costs over the long winter.
History is unwritten until we write it with our sweat, love, courage, solidarity and strength.
We will not back down. We will not yield.
