My good friend, Johni Kosugi has been a San Diego Police Officer for 25 years. Johni has been fighting a medical condition over the last 7 years. This condition has caused him to use up all of his sick leave, resulting in missing work without pay. The reasons are:
Infusion treatments
Medical procedures
Hospitalizations
Side effects from medications used in infusion treatments received twice a week
Johni was hospitalized in 2014 for 2 weeks and again in 2015 for 1 week. Both of these hospitalizations caused Johni to fall behind on his mortgage payments.
During October, 2016, Johni lost 70 hours of pay due to hospitalization. He is behind on his mortgage again. Johni is in danger of losing his home to foreclosure.
Johni's wife, Corrie is unable to work due to her disability. She is also under the care of doctors/specialists. She takes a number of prescription medications.
Between Johni's and Corrie's medical conditions, the monthly costs for prescription medication and co-pays for doctor visits are causing financial hardship.
In addition, Johni has also incurred over $12,000 in dental bills over the past 3 years between him, Corrie, and his teenage daughter.
Johni is currently 4 months behind on his mortgage payments. He is struggling to come up with the money to bring his mortgage current.
Johni has taken out loans, including against his 401k account. He is still repaying his 401k loan. Johni can no longer afford to take out any more loans.
Johni is suffering from an ongoing medical condition requiring ongoing treatments. These treatments have side effects, causing Johni to miss work. Since his sick leave has run out, he no longer gets paid, should he miss work.
I have known Johni for many years. He is a hard worker, and a loving husband and father. Johni is always there when you need him. He has been serving the citizens of the City of San Diego for 25 years. Please donate what you can to help him not only save his home, but to keep up with day to day expenses.
