Help John Kick Colon Cancer!


John Huynh is an amazing man who has touched many lives in the Dallas-Fort Worth skate scene over the last decade-plus. Knowing John since the 4th grade, and with many years of friendship under our belt, I am honored to say he is one of the kindest, hardest working, and greatest people I have ever had in my life. Even those of you who have met John only once, or twice, could attest to the incredible human being that he is. You never think things like this can hit so close to home, but the realities of life have come knocking on John's door, as he was recently diagnosed with colon cancer at the age of 28. 

Following a checkup last month, John was instructed to immediately admit himself into a nearby emergency room, as his hemoglobin reached an extremely low level (count of 5.1). After several days in the hospital and many tests later, John would receive his life-changing news. As of right now, doctors have reported that the cancer is in its early stages (1-2), but we will not have a clear idea of its progress until the surgery has been conducted.  
**After 9/27/16, we received his biopsy report that indicated that the his cancer is stage IV. Two lymph nodes out of 17 showed cancer cell. The cancer did break through his peritoneum wall. All of that was collected during surgery. Following his surgery, his PET scan showed no signs of spreading to any organs. Only 1 lymph node is showing cancer or post surgery inflammation. The oncologist will be keeping her eye on it.

Even after his diagnosis, John is still the same generous, positive, and fun loving guy. There’s never a dull moment, as he continues to keep a smile on all of our faces. He’s ready for whatever challenge is ahead of him, just as we are here to support him through his fight.
