John Perotti

As many of you may know,on June 1st, four weeks after my father passed, my brother John Perotti was airlifted to Columbia University Hospital. Ironically, that same day, his medical insurance went into effect. We almost lost him that night but by the grace of God, his intuitive wife and fast acting friends who knew he was not himself, the right people came to his aid before he reached the hospital and again, upon his arrival.

On Saturday, following the seizure, we were given the news from the MRI that his brain bleed was suspicious of having a possible tumor. Several tests and and a number of meetings later, it was determined that he did in fact, have something that needed to be removed. On Friday June 8th, one week later, he had brain surgery for removal of the tumor. John is strong and young and we pray that his youth will pull him through this.

After an 11-day stay in the hospital, he was released to go rest at home. The results have not been the best of news for him and our family. The tumor is a glioblastoma and the current treatment plan is several weeks of radiation and chemo. If for some reason the current treatment plan doesn’t work, then and only then will he be eligible for clinical trials.
After his last doctor’s visit, John was told that he may never get to return to work. For those who don’t know, he has been a self-employed carpenter and without his income, a hardship now exists to pay everyday expenses, new medical bills (not covered by insurance), etc.  The monies received will be used to help pay uncovered medical expense and living expenses as needed.

John’s spirits are high. He is trusting that God’s plan for him is bigger. He hopes that through his illness, he can be an inspiration to others fighting this same fight. John is a big guy, full of life. John could let cancer break him but instead, he is facing it head on and believes that he can help others with similar challenges. He’s just a vehicle with a message and the gift of a second chance to share the Word of God with others.

Thank you in advance for your generosity!
