Joe's Leg Saga

I am Joe Morin and have been so fortunate to have great physicians that have kept me walking and moving after being told ten years ago I would probably be in a wheelchair for life. For various reasons I have had surgery 10 times on my left leg and 4 times on my right. Not realizing this but each time the resulting scar tissue and edema (fluid) have built to the point my Lymph system just does not work well in my legs. The Rehab center has a plan to fix this but I would need daily visits and compression bandages from hip to toes each day for 4 -5 weeks. 

I do not have any disability time left having exhausted the 26 weeks from my employer.  I cannot collect Social Security Disability because this is at most a 6 week condition and you have to anticipate being out of work for at least a year and I do not have the extra funds to miss that much time from work unpaid. So unless I can count on my friends and friends of friends to help defray my expenses I cannot proceed with this 6 week procedure. The down side is I will continue to be in pain due to the excessive swelling and I also have an ulcer the size of a cell phone that will not heal until the fluid is removed. I have been going to a wound specialist in Meriden  since June 2016 and having dressings changed at least every other day with no major progress. This is my best chance for it to come to a good closure.

I need to commit to a 4-6 week plan and that means no work or at best 2-4 hours per day. I cannot do it without your help and I would be forever greatful to those who can donate to help Sue and I get through this saga.
