Want to join me in making a difference in combatting hunger in our community? Jo’s Outreach runs a food pantry that needs your help!
Jo's Outreach is a 501(c)(3) non-profit food pantry serving people in need in Monroe and Pike Counties. Each month, Jo's Outreach opens its doors and provides food to 75-100 individuals and families who, despite their best efforts, are still “food insecure,” that is, from month to month, they are never quite sure if they will have enough food on the table. These are generally working families with low income jobs that experience a lack of access to enough for food for the whole family or who cannot afford nutritious food.
Jo’s Outreach operates solely with a volunteer workforce and on small corporate grants and donations from people like you. They have managed to operate without deficits since it was established in September 2017, but now they have a specific need: Jo’s is in need of a new HVAC system to ensure that its food supplies do not spoil as a result of extreme weather. Jo’s Outreach is based in the Poconos Mountains. In the winter, ice and snow storms regularly lead to power outages. In the summer, the demand on the local power grid for air conditioning also leads to power outages. Because Jo’s currently has a limited number days of operation each month, it is critical that their supplies do not spoil. And that is why we need your help.
A new HVAV system for Jo’s Outreach will cost approximately $38,000. Can you help us feed families in Monroe and Pike counties? We can make this happen for them There are too many people in need to allow food to spoil! Help us stabilize and protect these precious resources so that we can help our neighbors in need.
