This month we launched the Jo Cox Memorial Scholarship, in memory of Jo Cox MP, who was murdered in 2016. The scholarship covers three fully-funded places for women to participate in our unique and powerful year-long campaign training programme. We hoped the scholarship would support women to become leading campaigners for a fairer and more just Britain.
Interest in the scholarship was much higher we anticipated, with 100+ women competing for just three scholarship places. Due to the unprecedented demand, we are launching this urgent crowdfunding appeal to support three more women to come on the Campaign Bootcamp training programme.
We’ve run the programme for three years and have carefully designed it to give participants the skills, community and confidence they need to run powerful campaigns. It starts with a week-long residential training, followed by a year of mentoring, further training and community support.
We’ve worked closely with the Jo Cox Foundation to create this scholarship. Here’s what they said about it:

The current political climate has emboldened the forces of misogyny, sexism and violence, and in this atmosphere we believe promoting the leadership of women is more crucial than ever. Applications for our May and July training programmes are open now . Participants for these programmes will be selected at the end of March. So we have 30 days to raise enough funds to support these three additional scholarships.
