Running for Refugees

Tax deductible
Hello friend!

It's been a long year, and I'm sure that you may be as fatigued as I am when it comes to the polarized, at times combative nature of our current political and social climate. However, as we move into the holiday season, a time usually earmarked for time spent with family and friends, I find myself focusing on the things that make up the common thread of our humanity.

Things that bring us together; like a gratefulness for our loved ones, neighborliness, and a compassion for others that extends past our own small tribes and to the larger human family.

As some of you may know, I'm set to run in my fourth consecutive LA Marathon in 2019.  This year, I wanted to dedicate and devote my efforts for race to this sort of thinking, and to those that put these values into action. As such, I'm raising money for International Rescue Committee.

Please consider joining me in my efforts to reach a $1500 goal by race day! Any donation will help make impact. And thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me!

More information about International Rescue Committee:

The International Rescue Committee responds to the world's worst humanitarian crises, helping restore health, safety, education, economic wellbeing, and power to people devastated by conflict and disaster. Founded in 1933, the IRC is at work in 40+ countries and 28 U.S. cities helping people to survive, reclaim control of their future and strengthen their communities.

The International Rescue Committee provides opportunities for refugees, asylees, victims of human trafficking, survivors of torture, and other immigrants to thrive in America. Each year, thousands of people, forced to flee violence and persecution, are welcomed by the people of the United States into the safety and freedom of America. These individuals have survived against incredible odds. The IRC works with government bodies, civil society actors, and local volunteers to help them translate their past experiences into assets that are valuable to their new communities.
