Mother in debt (accidental riba)

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatu

I am a 20 year old Muslim sister, have been so for 3 years now alhamdulillah. I have a son who is currently 1 and a half and has had ongoing respiratory issues due to black mould exposure. My old flat had very bad mould issues to the extent where mould would grow under my baby’s pillow at least every week and we also had very poor heating meaning he was always ill. I have asthma already myself so these conditions didn’t help but for it to happen to my baby was heartbreaking, every mum knows their baby going through pain is worse than yourself going through the pain. 

Below is proof of my mouldy damp flat, it would get this bad every week at least. These are just some photos I took of the bedroom to send to my landlord asking them for help, which they didn’t give. 


Would you be able to let your baby sleep in the same room as this?^


Alhamdulillah a month ago we moved into a better flat but in order to do this I needed to borrow £1,100 so I signed up for a 0% interest credit card with Lloyd’s bank. I intended on paying the money back the following month using my deposit from the old flat. 


However, my old flat deposit was payed for by the council straight to my landlord so I was later informed that legally the deposit has to go back to the account which payed it and the council are not giving me the money back. On top of that the bank has started adding interest on top (because apparently the 0% interest didn’t include cash withdrawals) so the amount I owe is increasing. 


I do not want to die in this state with riba over my head it’s a terrifying thought. Even £5 will make a difference. And please if you are not financially able to help I ask please just make du’a for me and ask allah to forgive me for my sins and allow me to pay this off quickly and easily, I cannot die in this state. Please help me for the sake of allah, Barak Allahu feekum
