Building A Brand

No college or university could ever prepare you for what you will face in the world until you are actually outside of that safety net. In fact, no one could ever prepare you for life until you jump off that cliff and start living it as it comes. I've decided to jump off that cliff freefalling into the clouds of dreams, hopes, and aspirations while also encountering the storm clouds of doubts, worries, and second guessing.

Over the past few years, I have been working diligently to build my name and brand amongst the commercial entertainment and beauty industries. I've known for a very long time that I was born a gifted creative and that art would be the path I take in life. However, I had no idea the expenses that would come with it, let alone being an entrepreneur. Most go to a beauty school where your tuition pays for your artist kit worth thousands of dollars, but I single handedly built mine from the ground up. And let me tell you, these products are ridiculously expensive. I had the passion and drive for it, so I went for the gusto. Unfortunately, theres still a long list of essentials needed to keep my artistry going, but you never would have known. I've been taught to seek out or create my own opportunities and use the resources I have at hand. Being able to work with what you have has been a great skill to have. Talk about faking it 'til you make it! But hey, thats apart of the journey.

The next chapter of this journey leads to more roads of uncertainty, but I shall walk by faith. Before the passing of my sister (my biggest fan) we spoke of moving to Los Angeles together and taking over the world. I feel i've lost some of that fire when I lost her. But now, I move forward because she'd root me on. I plan to move to Los Angeles at the close of the year with hopes of extending my brand, booking an agent, and continuing to keep that creative fire inside of me alive. In doing so, I turn to my community and those that support my work. I humbly ask for investment. You will be donating to help build my kit/supplies, aide in other tech aspects needed to serve my supporters, and aide me on this journey. Invest in a dreamer making their dreams a reality. Invest in a young entrepeneur. Invest in a young, black, and gifted creative for we know the odds are already against me in this world. The funny thing is, I've had intent on making this gofundme for quite some time now. I've only prevented myself from taking the next step. I'd think "what would people think", "i don't need help", "who'd even support this?" But one day, my mom told me "you have no idea who would want to bless you because they believe in you or because God put it in their heart to." So i've decided to stop going against the grain and turn to my community and supporters. Even if its a "keep pushing" and other encouraging words, it all will be appreciated.
