Bob Sager and Jim Chamberlain have been working hard to raise money to help our Friend, Community Leader and Local Businessman - Greg Martin, Owner of Jim’s Pizza in Durand, Michigan. Our campaign will be ending soon.....(See last 2 paragraphs).
Greg has been a Pillar of the Durand Community for years. He has contributed his time, money and efforts to assist with many functions and activities is our local Durand Community. Recently, he was INSTRUMENTAL in the planning and execution of the 2017 Durand Veterans of Rock-n-Roll Concert held at Optimist Park to raise money for the Veteran's Memorial Park here in Durand. Due to his outstanding involvement and time contribution, the concert raised well over $56,000 for this well-worthy cause!!!
In early January, there was a very deep freeze in the Durand area and on January 8th, the water line at Jim’s Pizza - operated by Greg Martin - ruptured in the ceiling, spewing water & soaked insulation and other materials all over his kitchen & preparation area. As a result, he has been unable to operate at that location since that time. Valuable time and money was lost as everything had to be disposed of - including all food items and some damaged equipment at the old location.
Due to this unforeseen event, Greg has suffered lost wages, lost inventory, equipment, and most importantly, lost revenue since January 8th.
Greg was literally on the verge of moving to his New Location at 215 N Saginaw by early January, but it is not yet finished. As a result, he has had to FOCUS ALL EFFORTS on getting the new location open with NO REVENUE coming in at all.
Greg has made a commitment to pay his loyal employees during this time, and some losses were covered by insurance, but he will also have to purchase new equipment costing thousands of dollars, all new inventory, and all of the items necessary to operate in the new location.
There has been a specific account set up at SageLink Credit Union to deposit all funds raised through this effort. Greg has given his assurance that ALL UNUSED FUNDS, if any, will be given to a local charity when he is up and running at the new place.

Financial donations would be much appreciated for the renovations, labor and moving into his new building as soon as possible. This is OUR chance to help someone who has given so much to the community of Durand. Not to mention the fact that JIM’s PIZZA has the BEST PIZZA and BACON/BREADSTICKS around.
