Jim's Cancer Fund

Jim was diagnosed today with metastatic non-small cell lung cancer, squamous cell carcinoma, stage 4. The plan is for him to start radiation therapy. He has a large mass in the lower lobe of his right lung, another small mass in his upper chest, and a spot in his brain. The brain is where they are going to start the radiation.
Prior to finding out about the cancer he has been in the hospital (admitted 10/22/18) for what we originally thought was a serious stomach bug. He started being ill on 10/16 without improving. He has not been able to take in food and keep it in since that date. Right now he is getting nutrition by IV and is being regularly tested for the cause. The spot in his brain is very close to the area that controls the reflex to vomit so that is one of the reasons they will be starting treatment there. They have to get that under control before they can administer chemotherapy or consider surgery.
The purpose for this fund is to allow me to take an indefinite leave from work to care for and give support in whatever capacity Jim needs. We have a very long road ahead of us and any kind support you feel lead to give will be greatly appreciated, your prayers being the most valuable to us. Our Heartfelt Thank You -- Jim and Sheila Lynch
